Dat ik wat traag ben, dat valt niet te ontkennen. Al vanaf dat het patroon uit kwam, was ik gek op de Ishi van Straight Grain. Toch kwam ik pas deze zomer toe aan het naaien van een Ishi. En ook dat is al een tijdje geleden. Eerst werd het patroon overgetekend en aangepast aanaan smalle lijfjes. Toen werd er getwijfeld of ik dat wel goed was gedaan met de prinsessennaden. Er werd opnieuw getekend. Mooie stof werd geknipt. Vervolgens werd getwijfeld over de stoffencombi. Een mooie Ishi staat of valt met de juiste combi.... Dus werd toch weer andere nieuwe stof besteld. Nu had ik genoeg stof voor twee Ishi's. Dus nog meer tekenen, aanpassen en knippen. Uiteindelijk lagen daar twee stapeltjes geknipte Ishi's klaar. En toen...niks..... nada.... Bijna zouden het UFO's worden...
I think it is safe to say that I am not the fastest girl in town when it comes to sewing. I loved the Ishi dress from the moment the pattern came out. Now when was that? Loooong ago, that is for sure. It was only this summer that I got myself to sewing Ishi dresses (yes plural!). It was a slow proces. First I traced the pattern and made adjustments for my skinny girl. Then I started to doubt if my adjustments were correct. Fretted about it for a couple of nights. And in the end redrew it again. I cut into some gorgeous fabric. Then had second thought over the combo. I feel fabric combinations can make or break an Ishi dress. So I ordered some more fabric. Now I had enough fabric for two Ishis.... So more tracing, adjusting and cutting to be done. But in the end, finally, there were two piles of cut fabric for Ishi dresses. And then...nothing, nada..... After all this tracing, cutting and doubting I simply did not feel like it.
