Koala onesie

2020 for the sewing community was the year of sewing facemasks. You might almost forget that a year earlier the sewing community also jumped into action for a different good cause. In 2019 bushfires scorched the Australian earth. Destroying the habitat of already vulnerable animals. It is hard to forget the images of distressed koala's and joey's/ baby kangaroos. Out of nowhere came a call to help making joey pouches and koala mittens. Originally it went out to the Australian crafting scene, but it quickly spread out internationally. Who wouldn't want to help those poor animals?! Soon Australia was flooded... And so it happened that some were urging crafters to keep making, while others were urging them to stop. Amidst of all this there were other discussions going on about the right materials and finishing techniques.  In hindsight, the whole thing was almost like a rehearsal for 2020 and mask making.

Easy does it

Everytime See you at six comes up with a new collection I speed up. I will only allow myself to buy some of the new collection  when I use up the previous. So just before their Autumn 2018 collection came out I sewed up this dress from the Summer 2018 collection. And then only got around to blogging this when the winter collection already came out....

Pyjama in vermomming - secret pyjama

Velvet is a trend that is hard to miss this season. A lovely warm and soft fabric, but also a fabric that can easily be mistaken for pyjama's or babyclothing. Something I would not want my girls to wear when leaving the house in the morning. Luckily inspiration can be found everywhere online and in the shops.

Party outfit for cute girls

Christmas break calls for very diverse outfits. On the one hand days are filled hanging around the house in our pj's (more about those in another blogpost). On the other hand it is the time of the year to really dress up. This year I managed to sew my youngest a last minute party outfit. I am so happy that I spend some time on this outfit. It really adds that silver lining to any party to see my girls shine in something self-made!

Jump for joy!

Oh how disappointed she was when she found out last years playsuit no longer fit.... And then had to watch little sis walk away with it. Sometimes it is hard growing up. A new romper had to be made, rather sooner then later...
